Bio Vastum Solutions (P) Ltd.is established in the year 2021, having it’s Registered Office at Angamaly, near Cochin International Airport, Kerala to provide solutions to safe and environment-friendly disinfection, solidification and disposal of the noxious biomedical waste generated by hospitals, clinical labs & research institutions.

Bio Vastum Solutions (P) Ltd. is partnering with CSIR-NIIST(CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India who has developed a unique system for disinfecting both liquid and solid toxic biomedical waste. Upon treating biomedical waste with this new path-breaking product, toxic waste is instantly converted into a fragrant non-toxic solid substance. BVS plans to disseminate this unique technology throughout globally. This could be a boom to the healthcare industry & local bodies who currently face huge challenges in safely disposing biomedical waste because of spillage and cross contamination to health workers and the society at large.

Improper and inadequate biomedical waste management can cause various problems like infection, pollution, unpleasant odour, pest and disease infestation and various occupational and health hazards. Studies have shown that about 39% of registered nurses experience exposure to biomedical waste.

With the new technology, microbial disinfection happens within 1 minute of treating the waste. Detoxification & solidification of the waste reduce the risks of spillage and occupational exposure. The treated waste may be disposed as non-regulated medical waste. Segregation, transportation and disposal of such disinfected medical waste are easier, safer and economical. After the treatment, bio medical waste can be transported and disposed safely.

CSIR-NIIST has applied for protection of the IP via three patent applications. BVS has entered into a technology transfer with CSIR-NIIST and plan to set up facility to produce the required products and distribute it globally.
